According to research related to Prohibition, some of the illnesses, such as liver cirrhosis, were reduced during alcohol barring. Violent crime and immoral behavior were the same if not increased, if considered, alcohol smuggling, the fight for the illegal market, the nightclubs of "speak easy" types etc. One way to facilitate alcohol procurement was to prescribe alcohol for medical purposes, which increased significantly during the prohibition. This is how the term "medicinal alcohol" emerged.

The answer is: b.
