Why do cats kick when they bite?

That is so weird. I have dogs and they push their lips back like the xenomorph.
Being that cats are flexible they probably do that like you said, to get away or something.

A Guess:
When they are being attacked , the kick frees them from their attacker.

I didn't even know they did that.
I guess they're just dysfunctional.

My cat does it .
