Graph the ordered pairs for y = 4x + 2 using x=[-2,1,2]

I don't remember how to do this properly, can someone walk me through it please?

I'm thinking that I need to take (-2,1,2) and plug them into the equation, but what do I do from there?

to plot the eqution you should solve the values of y with each corresponding values of x.

at x = 1

y = 4x + 2

y = 4(1) + 2 = 6

at x = -2

y = 4(-2) + 2

y = -6

at x = 2

y = 4(2) + 2

y = 10

ANSWER

See graph

Step-by-step explanation

First you need to substitute each x-value in to the function and calculate for the y-values as follows,

When

x = - 2

y = 4( - 2) + 2

y = - 8 + 2 = - 6

This gives us the ordered pairs,

(-2,-6)

When

x = 1

y = 4(1) + 2

y = 4 + 2 = 6
We again have the ordered pair,

(1,6)

When

x = 2

y = 4(2) + 2

y = 8 + 2 = 10

This also gives the ordered pair,

We now plot all the ordered pairs and draw a straight line through the graph as shown in the attachment.
