An arrow is fired directly horizontal off a cliff that is 10 meters tall with a velocity of 65.5m/s.

A. How long is the arrow in the air?
B. What is the range of the arrow?

A We can observe independently vertical component of arrows speed. Since there isn't vertical speed at start we can observe this case as free fall where formula for traveled distance is:
h = 1/2*g*t^2

we can express t

t = √2h/g
t = 1,427s
after 1.427 seconds in air arrow will hit ground.
B. The range we get simply by calculating how much distance will arrow travel in 1.427 seconds at speed of 64.5m/s. speed is not changing because we are ignoring air resistance.

s = t*v = 93.468m
