Solution :

let x denotes the no. of students packing a lunch

let y denotes the no. of students buying a lunch

Since the ratio is 2:9



(2)/(9) = (x)/(y)



2y = 9x



y = (9)/(2) x



y =4.5 x


Since y denotes the no. of students buying a lunch and x denotes the no. of students packing a lunch


Thus , The number of students buying lunch is 4.5 times the number of students packing a lunch.
