they were the first colonial settlement.The southern colonies were an ideal place for agriculture. The Southern Colonies had warm and damp climate, which meant growing plants was easy. they were agricultural and had many slaves.

There agriculture! The south was the top plantation settlements in the US. They had rich soul unlike the north. They had a lot of slaves and a lot of land, so they didn't have to worry about tending to there own crops. This was there whole economy. When you think of the southern colonies you should remember 3 thing:

~Agriculture

~Slaves

~Land
