How did Peter Zenger's trial affect the media today?

Note: I already know who Peter Zenger was, and what his trial was about, I just need to know how it affected the media in today's society.

i would say his trial affected media because bak then media(newspapers) was blocked and there was no freedom of speech. but as our world grew, media can show anyones views and not get prosecuted

so basically the case changed our world to be able to say what we want to say in media like the first amendment, freedom of speech :)
