all you have to do is set them equal to each other, then solve for x.
f(x) = g(x)
3x - 4 = (5/3)x - 8 ... add 4 to both sides
3x = (5/3)x - 4 ... subtract (5/3)x
(4/3)x = - 4 ... divide by (4/3)
x = -3 is your answer
