3(1)/(2) =(3*2+1)/(2)= (7)/(2)


1(3)/(4) =(1*4+3)/(4)= (7)/(4)

Find the total cost

we know that

the total cost is equal to the cost of the gallons of white paint plus the cost of the gallons of blue paint

the cost of the gallons of white paint is equal to


(7)/(2)*17.50= \$61.25

the cost of the gallons of blue paint is


(7)/(4)*19.00= \$33.25
