The answer is 22. if it started with 860 and in 8 hours it has 1036 then you would subtract 1036 - 860 which is 176 and that divided by 8 is 22. hope that helps. :)

Answer:

B. 22

Explanation:

Let x represent number of gallons per hour.

We have been given that a pump adds liquid to the tank at a constant rate. The number of gallons added after 8 hours would be
8x.

We are also told that the tank starts out with 860 gallons of liquid. So total amount of liquid after 8 hours would be
8x+860.

The total amount of liquid in the tank after 8 hours is 1,036, so we can represent this information in an equation as:

8x+860=1,036

8x+860-860=1,036-860

8x=176

(8x)/(8)=(176)/(8)

x=22

Therefore, 22 gallons of liquid were pumped per hour.
