will Arteries take oxygenated blood from the heart to the peripheral tissues while veins return deoxygenated blood back to the heart where it is pumped to the lungs to be oxygenated and sent back to the heart to be returned to the peripheral tissues needing oxygen.

Arteries carry blood out of the heart except for the coronary arteries( brings blood back to the heart). Arteries are larger than veins. Veins bring blood back to the heart after a trip to the lungs for oxygen.
