true b/c during the reign of elizabeth I people flourished but when james I came to power he wanted more religion so as to the leading of the pilgrims or separtist.

Separatist wanted to have some degree of freedom to worship outside of the rigid structure of the Church of England. King James I of England, followed the policies of Queen Elizabeth I concerning the separatists. He showed no tolerance at all to them and to Catholics.
