Why doesn't a ball roll forever after being kicked at a soccer game!

Friction, lack/loss of kinetic energy

Every time the ball has to push an air molecule or a blade of grass out of the way, it has to use some of its kinetic energy to do that. Eventually it uses up all the KE it has, whereupon it runs out of gas and stops moving.
