Human cells are primarily made up of protein. Aside from water, which forms 70 percent of a cell’s mass, a cell is composed mostly of macromolecules. The largest portion of macromolecules are the proteins with 18% of total cell weight. The protein macromolecule contains about 400 amino acid molecules.
