People in power benefited the most. This would include the emperor, nobles of his court, and leading military officials.

Answer:

The aristocracy benefited the most from the increasing wealth; until recently Japan was a feudal society controlled by emperors and military rulers such as "The Shogun"; farmers in japan albeit did all the work, hardly benefited from the wealth; merchants benefited more due being in contact with money, but the groups benefiting the most were definitely the ruling class, the nobility and military officials.
