you have:
(n)/(3) =12

and


(n)/(3) =-12

To solve for....
(n)/(3) =12

Multiply to remove the denominator-->>


3* (n)/(3) =12*3

n=12*3

n=36

Then-->>>


(n)/(3) =-12

Do the same thing-->>


3* (n)/(3) =-12*3

n=-12*3

n=-36

Thus, your answer.
