Answer:

The median is 220.5

Explanation:

Given a sample of numbers, the median of the sample represents the number which is in the middle of the sample. It's always convenient to have the sample ordered from the least to the greatest number.

For example, for the sample :

1,7,5

The first step is to order the sample :

1,5,7

For this sample, the number 5 is in the middle.

It's important to know that given a sample that has an odd number of numbers (we called this number i) and we have already ordered the sample, the median will be the
(i+1)/(2) element.

For example, for a sample of 15 numbers which are already ordered, the element
(15+1)/(2) = 8 (eighth element) is the median.

Also, with a sample containing an even number of numbers (already ordered), for example x1 , x2 , ... , xi, the median of the sample is calculated as
(1)/(2)(x_{(i)/(2)}+x_{(i)/(2)+1})

For example, for a sample of 10 numbers which are already ordered, the median is ( i = 10 ) :

(1)/(2)(x_(5)+x_(6))

In the exercise, there is an even number of numbers ⇒

208,220,221,302

the median is the middle value between 220 and 221 =
(220+221)/(2)=220.5
