6x^2 - 216 = 0 divide both sides by 6
x^2 - 36 = 0
x^2 = 36
x = 6 and -6
8x^2 = 56
x^2 = 7
x = square root(7), and - square root(7)
5x^2 -10x = 0 factor out a 5x
5x (x - 2) = 0 so, 5x = 0 and x - 2 = 0
x = 0 and 2
