The GCF is a number you can get out of these 2 numbers that can later be multiplied to get the same thing as teh biginning for example lets try 16 it fits on 32 2 times nad in 16 once this means that this is equal to 16(2+1) when you multiply doe sit give you 32+16 it does so 16 is your GCF
