Does visual images taken directly from a source such as pictures charts an graphs need a citation

The answer is yes. If they are taken from a source, the source needs to be cited. Typically, if you include multiple graphics, you number them right beneath the image, and then refer back to this number in your citations for reference by the reviewer. The citation listing itself would have the original source information from which you pulled the graphic.
