the sum of angles in a triangle has to be 180
for the right angle triangle is 90+80+y=180
y=10

for the big triangle we have 90+49+17+x+10=180
166+x=180
x=14

I believe the answer is 17. This is due to the fact that there is the congruent symbol on the two angles. Which means that the two angles are the same. If one is 17, then the other is 17. I hope this helps!
