Do Americans have an “absolute” right to freedom of speech. Please explain why or why not.

No, it isn't absolute but we do get to say a lot. For instance, I can't go to an airport and yell BOMB because you can get in a lot a lot of trouble for that. You also lose some rights when you are in school such as the right to bear arms. you can't take a firearm to school, can you? Just like in school you can't curse out a teacher because you will get in trouble for that as well.

Bottom line is no it isn't "absolute" but you do get to protest in certain areas and talk trash in certain areas because that is your right to speak.
