The y-intercept is

y=-x-5


To find the x-intercept, we put
y=0 in to the equation.

The equation now becomes
0=-x-5.


We now solve for
x to obtain;



5=-x



-5=x


Therefore the x-intercept is
(-5,0).


To find the y-intercept, we substitute
x=0 in to the equation
y=0-5



\Rightarrow y=-5.


This means that the y-intercept is
(0,-5).


We now plot the intercepts and draw a straight line through them to obtain the graph that is shown in the attachment.
