What is one similarity and one difference between an altitude and a median of a triangle?

I know that A median of a triangle is a line segment joining a vertex to the midpoint of the opposite side.

And that the Altitude of a triangle is a straight line through a vertex and perpendicular to the opposite side or an extension of the opposite side.

The median of the triangle is a segment that connects the vertex of the triangle to the midpoint of the side opposite to the vertex. The altitude of the triangle is a segment that connects the vertex of the triangle to the side opposite to the triangle, which intersects that side at exactly 90°.
