Why is the formula for curved surface area of a cone πrl? I just don't get how that makes sense, why not dlπ, so you find the circumference, and then times that by the length? Doesn't that only give us half the curved surface area?

Hey I feel, I had the same issue. Here's the thing, math doesn't always make sense. Just remember that anything that has to do with circles (like cones) utalizes the radius, not the entire diameter
