We just did this in our class. compressive stress that has the effect of squeezing and shortening the terrain. There's a fault  scarp between compressional stress and reverse fault. compressive produces reverses faults. when two plates move inward towards each other, this is called  a  reverse fault using compressive force to create a reverse fault.
