$5+(2)/(p)=(17)/(p);\ p\\eq0\\\\(5p)/(p)+(2)/(p)=(17)/(p)\\\\(5p+2)/(p)=(17)/(p)\iff5p+2=17\\\\5p=17-2\\\\5p=15\ /:5\\\\p=3$
