For 1.54 you can do one 100(for the ones place) then 5 tens(for the tenths place) and 4 ones(for the hundreds place. For 2.37 you can to 2 hundreds, 3 tens and 7 ones. 1.54 + 2.37 is 3.91. You can do 3 hundreds, 9 tens and 1.

We can use 100s for ones place, 10s for tenth place and 1s for hundredth place.

Addition of 4 and 7 in the hundredth places will give 11.

Replace 10 blocks with 1 tens block.

Add this 1 to 5 and 3 which are in tens place. This will be 1+5+3 = 9.

Addition of 1 and 2 in ones places 3.

Hence, the answer is 3.91.
