you subtract 16 from both sides so you will get x=9x+16 then u subtract 9x from both sides so you will get -8x=16 then u divide each side by -8. so you will get -2.

Subtract x from the left side to get
16=8x
Now divide by 8 on both sides to get x by it self
16÷8
8x÷8
x=2
