The People's Party, also known as the Populist Party, was a political party created by the American farmers in the late 1800's during industrialization.

They fought for and eventually managed to implement:

  • Graduated Income Tax, Direct Election of the Senate;
  • Government Ownership of Railroads, telephones and telegraphs;
  • Coinage & Free Silver.

The People's Party in Ohio helped Republicans in a very significant way, mostly because the Populists tended to attract their supporters from the Democratic Party and, in order to win back their former members, the Democrats in Ohio ended up quickly adopting many of the Populists ideals, making the populists achieve pretty much all that they wanted.

So the answer is:

D. All the above
