First, set up your equation:
5/100 = x/180
Next, cross multiply:
100*x = 5*180
100x = 900
Then, divide both sides by 100 to get x by itself:
100x ÷ 100 = 900 ÷ 100
Now you have your answer!:
x = 9
5% of 180 = 9
