Hinduism is when you are born into it. It is not like Christianity where they convert anyone. They wanted to maintain a way of life that they were given by their ancestors. Monks were sent surrounding territories to teach the people Buddhism.

How and why did Buddhism spread? Why didn’t Hinduism spread?
