The range of the function f(x) = x + 5 is {7, 9}. What is the function’s domain?

Just substitute 7 for y, and solve for x. Then substitute 9 for y, and solve for x again.
7 = x + 5, x = 2

9 = x + 5, x = 4

So the range is 2 and 4.
