what is the difference between "general will" and "individual will"? why does Rousseau claim the general will is always good?

The idea of the general will is at the heart of Rousseau's philosophy.

The belief that man, by nature, is good was espoused by the French which could lead to hurt feelings, as a vice and as always bad.
