The fluid mosaic model refers to the theories surrounding the the way in which cell membranes are structures. According to the Dluid Mosain model, cell membranes are composed of phospholipid bilayers joined together. The word 'fluid' in its title refers to the fact that some parts of the membrane are able to move around freely.
