Human hearts have pairs of two types of chambers; the atria (plural for atrium)and the ventricles. Atria are where blood enters the heart and ventricles pump the blood out of the heart. The heart also takes in oxygen poor blood, pumps it through the lungs or gills (fish), where the blood is oxygenated, and then pumped through the rest of the body. Identify which statement is correct.

A) Fish have a three-chamber heart.
B) Reptiles have a two-chamber heart.
C) Mammals have a four-chamber heart.
D) None of these statements are correct.

The correct answer is option C, Mammals have a four-chamber heart.

Mammals have four chambered heart (two atria and two ventricle) which is responsible for keeping the oxygenated and deoxygenated blood separate. The oxygenated blood is pumped throughout the body while the deoxygenated blood is pumped only through the lungs.

While in the other options provided, Fish have a simple two chambered heart and reptiles have three chambered heart (two atria and one ventricle)
