Answer: After carefully reading the lines from the passage presented above, which are from John Donne’s poem “A Valediction: Forbidding Mourning” I concluded that he is trying to say that he and his mistress are one but not quite while comparing their relationship to the legs in a compass. The best answer is choice C) Their separation will only cause their united soul to expand.
