I would say that the sentence from the excerpt of Self-Reliance that clearly conveys the spirit of individualism that Ralph Waldo Emerson held is D. To believe your own thought, to believe that what is true for you in your private heart is true for all men,--that is genius.
Here you can see that he valued individualism, your own original thoughts above everything else.
