The perimeter of a rectangle is: P = 2(l + w) So we have: P = 2(l + x) This is one of our expressions. It says the length is 3 times the width. So we have 3 * x or 3x. We can write: l = 3x Now plug this into the formula: P = 2(l + x) Plug in '3x' for 'l'
