"Southern ape" or "Australopithecus" is an extinct genus of the members of the human family tree. The family tree consist of 5 species which include the afarensus, african-us, anamensis, garhi, and the sediba. The "Australopithecus" or "Southern ape" is no longer part of the human family tree, because it's extinct.
