What are two ways in which heat is transported in the biosphere?

The answer is by both convection and radiation. Direct sunlight penetrates to the surface, heating air particles and the ground and water. As these particles/molecules heat up, the heat spreads around AND rises. What does this have to do with the biosphere, you ask? Organisms are directly warmed by sunlight, and each other (consumers) to stay warm as well. Please give me "best answer"!
