Question

Chris has 5 1/2 cups of water in a pitcher. He pours 3/8 cup of water into a glass.

How many cups of water is left in the pitcher?

Please help me guys, I would be very very thankful.

There's 5 1/8 cups of water left in the pitcher I believe...
5 1/2 = 11/2
11/2 = 44/8
44/8 - 3/8 =41/8
41/8 = 5 1/8
