2x² + 16x + 24
2(x² + 8x + 12)
x² + 8x + 12
x² ⇒ x * x
12 ⇒ 1 * 12 ; 2 * 6 ; 3 * 4
Among the factors of 12 ; 2 & 6 add up to 8.
2(x+2)(x+6) is the factored form.
