Humanism is the movement that centered around studies of Medieval beliefs and church accomplishments

No humanism is actually in many ways the opposite of this. Humanism was not based on Medieval beliefs and the Church but instead on ancient texts and secular beliefs unassociated with religion. Humanism posits the innate value in human life regardless of a supernatural ethics or values.
