You bought 12 red apples and 15 green apples to make a pie. What is the ratio of the number of red apples to the total number of apples?

There are 12 red apples, so 12 will be on top.

You need to add 12 and 15 to get the total number of apples.

Your ratio is 12/27

If you need to simplify it, it is 4/9 so the answer is 4/9 :)

In case you didn't already know, a ratio is a fraction in which, in this case, the red apples will be the nominator and the total number of apples will be the denominator.
