I believe it was Benjamin franking and tommy jefferson who went to Paris to sign the treaty of paris declaring the end of the american revolution and British must leave the USA as long as they take their taxes, but the french were upset that the americans can have all lands from the 13 colonies all the way to the west side of US known as Washington, Oregon, California.
