D) is the answer. The plants take in sunlight through the process of photosynthesis. During that process the chloroplasts make sugars while releasing oxygen into the air. All plant cells contain chloroplasts.

In the Chloroplasts the organelles mentioned can produce sugars like glucose and release oxygen, in a process called photosynthesis This process is common to plants. (cloros in greek means "green")
