How was society characterized during the Renaissance

Society during Renaissance was hedonistic as opposed to the Middle Age. The people as well as writers indulged in feasts (drinking, dancing, etc.) and physical acts of love (which were looked down on in the Middle Age). In short, they were very liberal :D
