You take 163 divided by 40, and get 4.075, so 40 goes into 163 4 times. Therefore you would take 40 times 4, which equals 160. Then you would take 163 minus 160, and get three. You keep the denominator as 40, so you answer would be 4 and 3 over 40

4.075 as a fraction/ mixed number is 4 75/1000 which is simplified to 4 3/40
