0.875 is greater because look at the tenths place. 8 is greater than 7 so thats the answer. The second answer is not true. It could be 2.34 and 2.222 the second decimal has more decimal but its not greater because the tenths and hundredths place of the other number is greater.

No, a decimal with more digits does not necesarilly mean it is more than another but in this case 0.875 is greater than 0.75 because of 8 being greater than 7.
